A Historic Industry initiative
UFTAA & SKAL INTERNATIONAL, entered into a Memorandum of co-operation at the 65th Convention & Exhibition of Travel Agents Association of INDIA, held at Kunming, China from the 27-29 November, 2018.

Both these large Global organizations and industry leaders, acknowledging that each of them have been playing a significant role in the development and promotion of travel and tourism industry, embarked on a new journey to support each other. Ms Lavonne Wittman, President of SKAL INTERNATIONAL & Mr Sunil Kumar, President of UFTAA, represented both the organizations in the execution of this important MOU.

Founded in 1934, Skål International is the only professional organization promoting global Tourism and friendship, uniting all sectors of the Tourism industry. Its more than 13510 members, entailing of industry’s Managers and Executives, meet at Local, National, Regional and International levels to do business among friends throughout more than 345 Skål Clubs along 101 countries.

The Universal Federation of Travel Agents ‘Associations (UFTAA) was formed on November 22nd 1966 in Rome and renamed as UNITED Federation of Travel Agents Associations. As a globally recognized body, UFTAA is the longest established negotiating partner with the leading travel and tourism organisations in the world. Of a special importance is the close co-operation with IATA, representing the interest of travel agents. UFTAA had partnered in IATA-UFTAA Training Programme. UFTAA represents the industry in the IATA’s PAPGJC – Passenger Agency Program Global Joint Council. UFTAA is represented in over 70 countries of the world and has National Associations as its members, with a combined membership of over 50,000. UFTAA is a member of World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) through its Affiliate Member Programme. The high-level global contacts enable UFTAA to assist national associations in their contacts with authorities.
